Amanda Fasola

Senior Intellectual Property Officer

Amanda Fasola

Born and raised in Guernsey Amanda keeps strong links with her Italian family background and her upbringing in the catering and hospitality industry.

After a period working in Maine-et-Loire as a foreign language assistant, in 1997, Amanda graduated from U.C. Wales, Swansea with a B.A.(Hons) Degree in Modern Languages (French & Italian). She returned to Guernsey and went on to work for The Customs & Immigration Department on the Excise & Import Control Team.

Between October 2000 and July 2002 Amanda travelled across Canada and the Pacific, undertaking voluntary marine conservation work in Yandua, Fiji before travelling through New Zealand and on to a twelve month working stay in Australia.

In 2002, a poorly bank balance and relevant previous experience in the Home Department led to 3 years as Office Manager at the Financial Intelligence Service a joint Police & Customs Department and a subsequent position as Intelligence Processing Manager, Customs & Immigration Department.

Since joining the Intellectual Property Office in May 2006, the role of Administrator of Registrations has given rise to a genuine interest in intellectual property in particular the use and importance of trade marks and designs as branding tools in a global market.

Amanda gained her Post-Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property in July 2009 and she is now looking forward to completing the final modules of a Diploma in Marketing as soon as possible.
